The end of August had a few challenges. We blew a tire on the way to Sarajevo and had to skip Sarajevo as we waited for a replacement in Montenegro. Our plans to travel to the south of France for a week fell through and we changed our flight to return home a few days early. We will be in North America for September traveling between Virginia, NYC, St. Louis, Calgary and Edmonton. It's great catching up with friends and family.
We traveled by:
Air - 3840 miles - 7,779 miles or 12,519 km total for the trip
Boat - 31 miles - 4,373 miles or 7,038 km total for the trip
Car - 2,676 miles - 6,572 miles or 10,576 km total for the trip
Walking - 122 miles - 460 miles or 740 km total for the trip
Countries visited: 6 - Italy, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, France, United States - 15 total for the trip (Belgium, Bosnia, Croatia, England, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Northern Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Switzerland, United States)

(These were special requests for the blog)
From August 1 - August 31, we spent: $7,681 USD vs a budget of $6,610 - $27,391 total for the trip vs a budget of $26,326
This month our budget was $6,610 and we were over budget by $1,071.
We were over-budget on:
- Tolls (Lots of driving and lots of tolls)
- Transportation (This was mainly from a $600 fee to change our flights).
