We are sitting in a hotel room in Pamplona, Spain about to begin the Camino de Santiago tomorrow. We were absolutely horrible about posting the last couple months and here is our attempt to catch up and start to be more consistent the next few months.
We were back in North America for all of September. We visited both sets of parents (Mclean, Virginia and Edmonton, Alberta), saw our friends and family in New York, St. Louis and Denver, saw the dogs for a few days and got to celebrate a couple of weddings. All in all it was a fantastic month, but we seemed to be much busier than when we were actually traveling.
We traveled by:
Air - 7957 miles - 15,736 miles or 23,325 km total for the trip
Boat - 0 miles - 4,373 miles or 7,038 km total for the trip
Car - 1,100 miles - 7,672 miles or 12,346 km total for the trip
Walking - 115 miles - 574 miles or 924 km total for the trip
Countries visited: 2 - Canada, United States - 16 total for the trip (Belgium, Bosnia, Canada, Croatia, England, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Northern Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Switzerland, United States)
Beds slept in: 7 - 43 total for the trip
Spring rolls consumed by Graham: 20 - 35 total for the trip
Ice cream cones consumed by Jane: 6 - 63 total for the trip
(These were special requests for the blog)
From Sept 1 - Sept 30, we spent: $3,228 USD vs a budget of $3,635 - $30,620 total for the trip vs a budget of $29,961
This month our budget was $3,635 and we were under budget by $407.
We were under budget on:
Accommodation - we stayed with friends and family the entire month and because we came home from Europe earlier in August we didn't have hotel costs at the beginning of the month
